Modalities & Approach

I provide individualized treatment to fit my clients’ specific goals. I have a compassionate, non-preachy approach but don’t believe in letting my clients coast by without doing any self-work as I sit back, silently nodding. I am certified in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which I offer via telehealth. I believe that central to our struggles are our unmet needs, some past, some current, which have led us to compulsive/addictive behaviors and unhealthy attachments.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I believe that many forms of distorted thinking can be managed by, in the words of Thich Nhat Hanh, leaving the "prisons of the past and future" and coming back to the present moment. Much can be resolved by living the principle "be here now;" I've found this to be especially true when working with ADHD and dopamine-seeking patterns..

Somatic Therapy

Oppressive systems can often lead us to see our bodies from an external perspective. Somatic therapy, on the other hand, emphasizes reconnecting with your true self from within, integrating your emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations. Working with the body is crucial when working to tame the mind. Through patient observation, breath work, body scans, and teaching self-regulation and co-regulation techniques, I can support you in learning how to calm your nervous system and quiet your mind.

EMDR Therapy

Sometimes no amount of mindful awareness or positive self-talk can help us if we are stuck in trauma responses. When it comes to healing trauma and reducing triggers, the modality I find most helpful is EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I have undergone it myself and found it to be immensely healing. EMDR uses eye movement to simulate REM sleep, which in turn allows for the reprocessing of traumatic events so that they no longer activate the fight/flight/freeze/fawn response.

IFS

We all have different parts within us—some focused on managing tasks, others driven by the desire for quick solutions, and still others filled with curiosity and compassion. IFS can help you recognize and bring those parts into the light, and into balance, for a more harmonious inner state.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy helps us embrace thoughts and feelings without judgment, explore our values, and live a life aligned with those values. By focusing on mindfulness and commitment to meaningful actions, we’ll work on building psychological flexibility, empowering you to respond to life's challenges in a more effective and authentic way.

Client-Centered/Rogerian

You possess the tools necessary for your own healing. I will follow your guidance, trust your intuition, and meet you where you are in your journey.

Harm Reduction

Substance use is complex, and abstinence isn't the right path for everyone. Together, we'll set realistic, non-judgmental goals that align with your values.

Strength-Based

Everyone has unique strengths. We'll identify and build on yours to help you overcome life’s challenges.

Health at Any Size

True health is about adopting nourishing, sustainable habits, not focusing on a number on the scale. We'll work on embracing your body without shame, prioritizing wellbeing and joy.

Radical acceptance rests on letting go of the illusion of control and a willingness to notice and accept things as they are right now, without judging.

Exploring your identity? Struggling with stress, depression, or ups and downs in relationships?

I believe that reconnecting with your inner healing voice is an ongoing journey. Life’s struggles—whether feeling stuck in the past, being unable to stop thinking about the future, or wondering who you really are—can often overpower that wise, inner part of you that knows the way to healing. I’m here to help you rediscover that revitalizing power within. Together, we’ll explore how societal, cultural, and familial influences have shaped your relationship with yourself. Through this process, you’ll reconnect with your true self—the one that’s always been there, waiting to be uncovered.

For many of us, identity is fluid and constantly evolving, and these changes can often make us feel lonely or powerless, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I’m here to support you as you reconnect with your authentic self, and in turn, open the door to deeper, more connected and rewarding relationships with others.

How do EMDR & Somatic Therapy Work via Telehealth?

Tune in below as I explain how we can approach EMDR and somatic therapy together via telehealth. I also explain the use of the RAIN method (Recognize – Allow – Investigate – Nurture) in my practice.
